Personally, I don’t think the pepper lamb I ordered was cooked correctly. Maybe other things on their menu taste better...
Great food for a decent price. The incredibly sweet staff doesn't have perfect English, but I've never had a problem ordering regardless. Goes out of their way to serve you tea while you wait, and is happy to make a suggestion.
One of the worst chinese food I ate. I ordered angry chicken and then there were only 3 pieces of chicken. They added soy sauce in boiled mushroom, bamboo shoot and chicken. That’s it. I will never suggest anyone to go there.
The food was great along with the service! I was impressed with the timing of how it was cooked . We called in the order and walked 6 mins to the location and they had it ready for us . 10/10 Will go again .
Little known because of its interior location. But probably one of the best East Asian restaurants in Ames!
Huge portions. Friendly. Delicious. Authentic Food.
The food is spectacular and though it can sometimes be difficult to order with a slight language barrier, everyone there is very nice and hospitable
Great service the owners are really nice people
Always a great experience at Little Taipei! The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, the employees are so kind and hospitable, and best of all, THE FOOD! 😍🤤
Food is delicious, and the staff is lovely
One of our all time favorite places to eat in Ames. Quick, friendly service, reasonable prices. It's a family friendly place, and the staff is always very sweet to our kids.
Authentic food. Nice lady who works there. Every one gets tea and egg drop soup included, which is my favorite thing that is different about this place. You grab it yourself.
Great Chinese food right next to campus. Free parking!
I’ve heard different opinions about this place from different people that’s why I had decided to check it out and to me the food was tasty 😋 I enjoyed both dishes that I ordered a lot. Definitely worth a try 🤓Prices are reasonable/cheap too
The staff was nice and the food is pretty cheap. Steamed rice was a little dry though their chicken was kind of bland.
Not much on atmosphere or ambiance but we keep coming back for the great food and wonderful service. We order our food to go. The lady at the counter is exceptionally nice. She is always happy to see us. Our dishes come out fast, hot and delicious.
Friendly staff. Food was great. They offer soup and tea while you wait for your order!
Awesome food for modest price. Very helpful staff.
I love the Thai curry
Ordered the orange chicken and sesame chicken and fried rice they were both burnt and mainly breading couldn't find the chicken and the eggs in the rice was over cooked worst meal I've ever gotten from there my family and I won't be back
The House pork chop was excellent !!!
Nice little home owned restaurant with good vegetarian options.
Bad food... Pricey... Got a bad stomach!
Love this cozy little place! Great food, but I also really love the free soups, rice, and tea that you help yourself to as needed (there is a little table for this off to the side of the order counter, not super easy to see). The atmosphere and staff is very friendly and the Campustown location is very convenient and it has free parking for customers. Always glad to get lunch here.
Great food
This was an old favorite on campus. After so many years, it stayed the same, taste like China, feels like China.
Now that's the Little Taipei I remember from their old location. Chicken fried rice was the most flavorful I've had, without a ton of seasoning. I'm taking a star away for the state of the restroom.
Not bad
Great service and food. Lady behind the counter once ran down the street to give my friend his to-go box that he accidentally left behind. 10/10
Great food. Some of the best food I have ever tasted.
Delicious, inexpensive, and filling. Good American authentic Chinese close to campus. Great for lunch and dinner.
Probably some of the worst Chinese I've ever had. I got the sesame chicken and it was tasteless and mushy. the vegetable spring rolls also were mushy and tasted like cardboard. The crab ragoon also had little to nothing inside it and was soft and mushy the food tasted like it had been sitting out all day or was used from the day before. I've never tried any of their other dishes but i don't recommend this to anyone. 888 Chinese in Ames is wayyyy better than this and cheaper. I wouldn't even give this one star if I didn't have to.
Good tasting food at great prices. They also give you plenty to eat and take home.
Best chinese food around, very friendly staff. Free rice and soup when you dine in. The twice cooked pork, fried dumplings and sesame chicken are favorites of mine.
The friend rice was so flavorless it really seemed like they just put some brown food coloring in white rice and called it a day. The sauce the chicken and broccoli came in was also pretty flavorless, and the chicken itself was rubbery. Terrible food, never ordering again.
Great Food. Will be back
The owners and staff are probably the friendliest in Ames, and they always remember my husband and his friends who go there often. The food is great as well!
Great roast duck 🦆👏 I love it soooo much! Delicious food and affordable price.
I love their lam fried rice!! Has a delightful flavor, like homemade cooking. I'm not Asian so I cannot talk about really Asian dishes, so for regular people I recommend lamb fried rice is perfect!
Not very friendly for Americans. The food was good and the menu was in English. However, there was no background music, the servers didn't speak English very well, and the bathrooms weren't very clean. However, the staff was extremely friendly and it's a good place to go for a cultural experience right in Ames.
The service was fantastic. I felt like I was at home 😊. Not because my mother makes Chinese food, but because I was made to feel very comfortable. The older woman who saw to me was very gentle and attentive. I will be coming back
First visit to Little Taipei in probably 15 years, always surprised when are still around after a long time... I ordered spicy beef with rice, and veggie egg rolls. The food was fairly bland, but tasted okay, egg rolls were tiny. The thing is though, typically when you visit Asian restaurants, the have the little chili pepper beside dish to gauge hotness, but they arent ever hot. This dish, had my mouth on fire, sinuses draining, eyes watering hotness, very good. I figured out that the long sliced green veggies werent bell peppers, they were Jalapenos! Excellent! For that I give 4 stars. Plus, they have free wifi, carryout, I believe they cater? Also plenty o places to lock up your bike. Free refills on rice, hot and sour / Eggdrop soup. Water isnt kept cool so you might want to bring your own drink, or order can soda...
Food was okay but there was a long black hair in my food.
Food is good and cheap.
Spicy stomach is the best
Thai Curry Vegetables with Tofu is my dish.. Only thing I get when I go to Little Taipei. BONUS FREE soup and tea when you dine in. Honestly great food for great price. The employees are cool, just smile and be cool too. Enjoy!
Food is outstanding! The rest room is horrible. Nothing worked and hasn’t been cleaned in years. Be sure to go before you go
Very good. Excellent service. Best I have had in a long time.
Still the best Ginger chicken I've had!
Friendly mom and pop Chinese...cumin lamb is my personal favorite.. free soup is great on a cold winter evening.Open till 10 PM
